Guest Teachers

Lainie MunroLainie Munro (choreographer, teacher) is a New York-based director, choreographer, and performer. Her directing/choreography credits include an episode of "Hope & Faith" starring Kelly Ripa, Oklahoma! starring Rue McClanahan for the Broadway Series of Charlotte NC, "Das Barbecu" in Denver, "Crazy for You" for FSU's Mainstage, and regional productions of " Seven Brides...", "Barnum", "Grand Hotel", "My Fair Lady", and "Joseph...Dreamcoat". She also assisted Joey McKneely with the tap choreography for the recent National Tour of “Crazy For You”. Her directing credits include "Great Day" for the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., "Cabaret" for Weathervane Rep, "That's Entertainment" and "Swing Time", two new revues she created for Cunard's Queen Elizabeth 2 and a staged reading of "Rainbow" at CAMI Music Hall in New York. Regionally she has performed as Velma in "Chicago", Diana in "Of Thee I Sing", Kristine in "A Chorus Line", and Phyllis on the european tour of "42nd Street". She also co-starred with Brian Welch on an episode of "The Movie Break" for TBS and was featured in “Invitation to the Dance: A Gala Celebration with the New York Pops” at Carnegie Hall.

In addition to her work as a director, choreographer, and performer, Lainie also has an extensive teaching career and is a frequent guest artist for master classes in Musical Theatre on both the East and West coasts. She taught Broadway Theatre Dance for the Musical Theatre Intensive Program at NYU's C.A.P. 21 Conservatory. Currently she is on the Theatre Dance and Tap faculty at the Broadway Dance Center in New York, where she is also the Artistic Director of "The Broadway Big Brother/Big Sister Program," a program she created in 2001 that pairs Broadway dancers with aspiring young performers, giving them an opportunity to work together through rehearsals and performances. Lainie was selected as a finalist for the 2003 Woman's Day Magazine Awards, "Women That Inspire Us," for her work with The Broadway Big Brother/Big Sister Program.

Lainie also holds a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Florida State University. She is a member of the Society of the Stage Directors and Choreographers and the Actors’ Equity Association.

Stephanie WalzStephanie Walz (teacher, dancer) was born in Virginia and trained at the Washington School of Ballet under Mary Day and at American Ballet Theatre School of Classical Ballet under Mikhail Baryshnikov. She is the recipient of a number of awards including scholarships from the Princess Grace Foundation, the USA International Ballet Competition at Jackson, Mississippi, and the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts. Ms. Walz also received first prizes at the National Society of Arts and Letters, and Prix de Lausaunne competitions, and was honored to attend the Golden Plate Awards. In 1991, President Bush named her a presidential Scholar in the Arts recognizing her artistic and academic achievements. She danced with American Ballet Theatre for eight years and has appeared internationally as a guest artist. She danced with Maximum Dance Company for seven years and is currently a freelance artist. She most recently appeared in the Florida Grand Opera’s new production of Aida in the soloist role of the High Priestess for their grand opening at Miami’s new Carnival Center.

Dylan Pearce is a freelance teacher, choreographer, and     performer from New York City. He began dancing at age 5 and has studied at the prestigious Joffrey Ballet School in NYC and received numerous scholarships and titles as a performer. He has appeared in the Nutcracker and performed in televised and staged productions including Off Broadway in Shea Sullivan’s ‘Dancing on a Dream’, WNBA All-Star Halftime Show, Miss New Jersey,  Miss New York and The Florida Miss pageants, The Michael Awards, Trump Plaza, Equity Fights AIDS, Bravo Summer Showcase, Knicks City Dancers, Tri-State Youth Invitational, Ray-Ban and Rite Aid industrials, as well as the International Dance Festival in NYC. Dylan was a back up dancer for International Recording Artist, Tina Ann and a company dancer in the modern company, Momix. Dylan was a dance captain for the Walt Disney World Christmas Show and has recently been touring the world, performing for Princess Cruise Lines and Norwegians Cruise Lines. Dylan is a highly sought after Master Instructor and Choreographer. He has taught master classes and choreographed all over the United States for studios and Universities. His distinctive style sets his choreography apart and gives his dancers a cutting edge above the competition.

Cid Roberts hails from Los Angeles, CA where he attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, and performed in regional theater productions throughout southern California. Upon moving to New York City in 1999, Cid studied with CAP21 at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and at the Amercian Musical and Dramatic Academy. Cid has performed worldwide with the touring companies of Broadway musicals such as GREASE and SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER. Regionally he has appeared in numerous productions such as EVITA, WEST SIDE STORY, A CHORUS LINE, FAME, and FIDDLER on the ROOF. Cid was a cast member in the US Premiere of London’s smash hit musical WE WILL ROCK YOU, at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. Some of his other credits include projects for  Oprah Winfrey, Disney, Jennifer Hudson, Norwegian Cruise Line, Holland America Cruise Line, Regent Cruises,  the Universal Ballet of Korea, the Jerry Lewis Telethon,  and countless others.
